That is a really unique looking full bent rhodesian! Great find. And pipedia tells me that this is a local make for you, too -- congrats!

Good job.

I have a question, what did you do with the rest of the store?
As soon as I read the title, I knew this comment would pop up.

Agreed - a good clean can bring out a depth of grain and it worked very well on this unique pipe.

Enjoy it for years sir!

Good job! Looking at your pipe with its broad flat, smooth rim, it makes me wonder if the bulldog/rhodesian evolved from the calabash.

It's a lot of fun to find treasures like that one at antique shops and then clean them up. You did a fine job there.

Where I am, the seller often wants upwards of $40-$60 a pipe for some chewed through junkers. but every now and again, I have seen some CustomBilts or Savs of GBDs. lots of basket no names around here. One time I saw a newer Radice that somebody totally torched the rim with a jet lighter. I should have taken a picture. What a waste. Still, anytime I can look I like to do it.
