My wife and I went to the antique mall today and I saw quite a few estates. Some maybe overpriced but I found one case where all the pipes were marked $6.50. Most were in rough shape one even had tape on the bottom to fix a burnout. But I scored what I thought were the best two. The first is a Kaywoodie Relief Grain 22 a small light billiard. Based on the shape number it dates between 1932-1971. The other pipe is a WDC Royal Demuth Billiard with the filter pat'd 1934 stamp on the shank. It has an aluminum tenon that fits a 6mm filter. I'm not sure of the date on that one. Both pipes have original stems in great shape despite oxidation...not a tooth mark that I can see on them. Both pipes have a ton of cake that will new to be reamed but the stummles are in very good shape with no dents or nicks just need to have the gunk on the rims cleane up but they are nice and sharp meaning they weren't banged out on concrete like some estates look. I'm very happy and plan on going back for a few others I saw that I didn't have the time or money for today but I wrote the booth numbers down so I could find them easily next trip. I know pics or it didn't happen Ill have them posted up shortly. Any info on the WDC's age would be great!
