I stand corrected. That’s the first meerschaum I have personally seen made to look like briar.
Barling made a bunch of them as well.

They're usually Jambo stummels with a stem fitted by the brand. Parker did them, Manx too, as well as Barking and others. I think Peterson had their own stummels, or had their own shapes made.

Here’s another listing from a seller that calls himself deadguypipss.

Exceedingly Rare Nording African Block Meerschaum Saddle Stem Brandy Pipe. This wonderful pipe will be the crown jewel of your meerschaum collection. I only see one other Nording meerschaum for sale and this one is a far more desirable shape! It is simply amazing and is the largest African Meerschaum that I have seen. The combination of wonderful rustication, that classic brandy shape and the fumed rim make for such a nice pipe. The stem fits securely into the brass military mount yet is easy to remove.

For $$349 I could buy about a dozen more Lees.:)

It is an interesting and beautiful pipe.

I didn't know Peterson made meerschaums that looked like this.

I have a Peterson Tanganyika (Amboseli) meerschaum systems pipe with hallmarked (1976) silver.

Nording owned Manx pipes which made pipes sold under their own label as well as quite a few other brands including Barling.

I think the vendor asking $349.99 for an African meer either doesn't know the market, or is hoping for a total novice to come along and be taken in by his hype.

The Amboseli mine shut up shop some time ago, but they are hardly rare
