I would say storing the tobacco upstairs would be just fine. I don't think 76 is to warm at all.
I keep my tobacco in my shop, and the temp out there changes from season to season. In the winter it can reach the low 50s as I only heat it when I'm in the shop. In the summer it can get into the high 70's to low 80's. I've never had a problem with my tobacco drying out, and it seems to age just fine.
