Another Bulldog for the kennel

Just arrived today - a 2011 unsmoked Carsten Idskov quarter bent, squat bulldog, tapered stem with a sperm whale tooth stem adornment

I had not heard of Idskov before.
There are a lot of his pipes (many unsmoked) in the estates section of Bisgaard Pipes

Most of his strangely proportioned pipes, some with bowls chopped off at odd angles do not appeal to me at all.
But this one with its large, squat bowl did

Interesting shape for a bulldog. Is the bowl angled back towards the shank? Maybe I'm not seeing what I think I am from the pics.

Yes, I'm somewhat of a Bulldog fancier - Britwoods in the main, but lately looking at Danish expressions.

Although I do not own any actual dogs

The button is cleverly angled such that when clenched, the rim of the bowl is horizontal with your mouth.

I really wasn’t on the lookout for another dog, but I kept going back for another look, and another.

Sorry, I was at work when I posted this initially.

Now that I have had time to look closely at the pipe - the vertical axis of the chamber is perpendicular to the shank.

The drilling is spot-on - absolutely dead centre and coming into the bottom of the chamber

And bare walls

A bit reminiscent of the Pete SH Hudson and Squire with the large bowl and thickish shank
But with some Danish curves to soften the “line”
