I started another briar pipe, kinda going for a plateau top Dublin.
I bought several blocks of Algeria Plateau from a Vermont Freehand a few years ago when they were closing it.
The blocks were rather small, so unless the bowl was the size of a thimble, there wasn’t much left for a shank. I decided that I would make and extension out of acrylic. As the length of the briar shank was so short, I had concerns about the acrylic getting melty. So I’ll probably use some stainless steel tubing inside the acrylic. And it will keep any moisture from ruining the join. This is the 3rd pipe of this type I’ve worked on. A little more challenging that the hardwood pipes I’ve made. Anyways it’s starting to look like a pipe.
