A recent find was this Dawes & Ball Smokers' Knife from a long gone tobacconist. It was made in Sheffield, England in about the 1930's and sold here in the states.

Lightly cleaned and oiled and appears to have hardly if at all been used.
As its a bit heavy using the tamper requires a very light touch.

Thank you. There are some others out there but this one with the labeled box and case I thought were the best and the price was negotiated down so that was even better.
If you've got a collector's eye, the store display racks often appear on ebay with the knives themselves selling for $10-$20 with a variety of handles.
