Now that it's full-blown Autumn, I wanted to take a moment to praise our favorite warm weather blends. The blends that hit just right on hot days, but don't see much action through the winter.

For me these are (but not limited to)...

F&T Virginia Cut Plug
PS Luxury Twist Flake
Newminster 400
Capstan Blue

I see we have similar tastes. On the other hand, I keep puffing them right along through the cold weather months. I've never been one for the weather changing my blend preferences.

Weather has not ever affected my choice of blends.
Shit, I'm just grateful that I've actually got a choice of blends to rotate through. [Many Aussie pipe smokers aren't so fortunate]

Same here. I enjoy burley year round, however, I really enjoy the Fall weather for pipe smoking.

I know many do consider burley as a summer blend and the campfire of Latakia makes sense as a cool weather blend, for those who enjoy it. I’m not one for Perique or Latakia. So it’s nutty, sweet burley year round.

I will add that I find that the burley blends that are cocoa forward such as Burley London Blend, Norwood or Prince Albert I favor in cold weather. Burleys such as Peterson’s University Flake with its berry/plum topping and even Granger, which I find delivers a difficult to describe high note makes a fine Summer blend.

I tend to prefer my Virginias, or a cigar in the warm months, as she cools down I get back on the Aros and English/Balkans.
Still warm enough here in Southern Ontario for Virginias for now.
