Actually I believe CS&F was not a pipe shop per se, but a local Oakland department store now largely forgotten. The full name was Capwell Sullivan and Furth. CS&F was formed in May of 1929, hardly the most auspicious time to launch a business given the impending crash. Smooth? Sandblast? Other? Picture? I was just looking at a couple of my Windsor's, they both only have the two digit shape numbers. In the 1930's the Mayfair had the 6 prefix...I have an odd, Shape 688 (Ashford) but the brand starts with a W, perhaps Winston?
