Amphora keos question?

Ok I just got this pipe and it has what looks like a switch that slides from side to side can anyone tell me the purpose. It is an Amphora Keos.

It will increase or decrease the amount of air that passes through it. Never had one myself though so no clue how well it works

Hmm ok that sounds plausible, Im going to have to look into ths, when i bought it from the pic i thought it was a lanyard loop or something, so when it came I was like, hmm never seen one of those before.

It's amphora KOS (no "e") in between. They've been around a long time in Belgium / Netherlands. It was actually a spin-off pipe for the Amphora tobacco made by Douwe Egberts.
It's an air circulation mechanism that mixes outside air with the smoke or not. Supposed to make it cooler. All the details can be found here

Very nice that is one of the newer ones and not the Amphroa mail off ones .
