Wilke has a lot of Latakia blends that would qualify. You can get a 4 blend sampler pack. Of the 4 I’ve tried, 2 would fit this style: Lizzie Blood Red English and Crystal Palace. Both are exceptional.

One that many people don’t consider an English because the Latakia is so minimal is Edward G Robinson. Tried it this morning for the first time and I would highly recommend it. To my palate the Latakia is at the minimum level of being noticeable but others have said it’s not particularly noticeable. It’s also has a great history.

That's a great blend. It's kind of in it's own camp. I think of it more as a burly aromatic blend. The latakia is there but if a blend is a conversation between different tobaccos it's in there but it's reading a book in the corner while the other tobaccos are drinking plum brandy and talking about sophisticated stuff.

I suggest Old Joe Krantz Red Label. Basically it's OJK with latakia and some cavendish. I think it definitely fits the description of an American blend. The lat is not too heavy handed, and between that and the added cavendish, it smoothes the perique a bit. Other than that, it's a burley blend with some lat and perique, and worth a try by anyone. I consider it an all day blend, which is another criteria I would assign to a blend to be an 'American Blend'.

Don't know how I overlooked this one. Sounds like my kind of tobacco.

When I think of "American" style Englishes, I think of burley added to latakia, with all other leaves optional. A couple I like are Pirate Kake and Spilman Mixture. Pirate Kake defines latakia bomb and I like latakia. Spilman Mixture is unique and superb. There's some topping in it that is ineffable and mysterious and when the mood strikes, delicious.
I'll have to try Spilman. I've never liked anything much with Burley, but Pirate Kake is awesome. I've tried it recently and it is very bold!
