I'm a big fan of Briarworks, made in Columbia TN.

You can also find a ton of American Handmade artisans but they get spendy quick.

I would suggest following your aim and being flexible when you see a nice Euro model you want, getting it, and have a guilt free smoke when it arrives.

That's what I do.

Smoke what you like, and like what you smoke. There's a lot of very talented American carvers if you're looking for something fancy, but if you just want a good affordable utility pipe that smokes well it's hard to go wrong with a Dr. Grabow Royalton or a Missouri Meerschaum cob.puffy

Some very, and I mean very, good American carvers out there - at a ton of price points. Morgan makes a wide range of pipes, as does BriarWorks. Neal Monier may be the best bang-for-the-buck carver on the planet. I have several of Norm Triptow‘s olive wood pipes and a few of his custom cobs. Ron Powell has started making pipes again (!!!). These are just a few of the makers that are, in my opinion, great values.

Let's see...

If a man walks outside during a thunderstorm and dies when a falling tree limb hits him on the head, was the CAUSE of his death...

1) The storm
2) The tree
3) The fact that he'd ignored trimming the tree after some cracked branches appeared the month before
4) That he responded to hearing a storm siren by going outside
5) That he didn't wear a helmet
6) That he stood in exactly that spot
.
...and so on, effectively forever

So, is an American pipe one that is...

1) Carved by an American
2) Carved by anyone, citizen or not, on American soil
3) Frazed somewhere else, but FINISHED on American soil... (and then, by #1? or by #2?)
4) Made overseas but IMPORTED by an American company
5) Made overseas but supplied directly to an American B&M
6) Consists only of sourced-in-America components
.
...and so on, effectively forever

There's a seaside town here called Manzanita and I've heard that they made pipes out of Manzanita burls during WW2, but I've never seen one!
Manzanita pipes come up for sale occasionally on Ebay.
An unsmoked one was listed a couple of years ago - I was tempted, but not sufficiently ;)

It would be fun to exclusively smoke Adam Davidson Pipes because with how much I smoke and how much his pipes cost I would probably only be smoking 70's era Balkan Sobrani and be living on a Yacht endlessly sailing around the world surrounded by beautiful women in bikinis ;)

I was thinly the same thing! Except for the man dying.
