Those definitely sound like codger tendencies.
When you go out for a meal do you ask what the soup of the day is? If it's something you don't like, do you respond with, "Bah!"?

I do that on a daily basis. Especially at work. Being in law enforcement, I hear some incredibly stupid statements.
Wife talked me into going to Best Buy our 17 yr old tv in living room is making noises, while there I told wife loudly what in the hell is wrong with this place , no chairs to rest. Salesman must of heard me, brought me a chair, I told him you’re the only one here who’s got any sense. Thank you. Wife shushing me, told her well I told him thank you. Yesterday she says I’m going a get us a tv, go I said, buy what you like. Wednesday install guys gonna come with an 85 Samsung. That’s my gal!
