One poster here looks down on Esotericas and writes once a month or so how he despises it.

But do I interpret correctly that your use of "look down" in this case means you looked at it?
John, I used to not entertain C&D based on others opinions. Once I got my head out of my ass and explored C&D it opened up my ? ?.

And, much of the Germain’s/Esoterica library is very good stuff. Just not worth chasing it down or paying super premium prices for it. But, YMMV. ?☕

Totally agree. Most of my regular rotations are Cornell & Diehl.

Right now we have a phenomena going on in pipe tobaccos. Whatever the psychology is, newbie pipesmokers are buying up stock as it is released. Us old timers realize that we still have plenty of things to explore that aren't in the panic buy zones, and honestly, I could spend a few years just exploring C&D blends without a worry for these unicorns.
Yeah it's even worse in the world of nasal snuff. There are newbies that literally have bought every single tin available to them. It blows my mind how much some people feel this need to experience everything. The funny thing is you get more out of any blend spending time with it. It's kind of like wanting to have a ten minute date with every single woman. While fun you're not really going to get down to the most fun parts of the experience.

I agree. I’ve had conversations with some tobacconist and they said 5 years ago most of the unicorns didn’t move hardly at all. I seem to always miss the good old days.
when to try more then a handful of blends one had to put in a heroic effort. Or in other words the good ole days are a lie, they're like now some good some crap and lots of annoyances and other bothers.

Well I do like to try a lot of blends just so I can find the right ones to settle down with... the problem is there are always more blends to try (I finally gave in to Lakelands) and the one you like best might be one of the ones that are hard to get on a regular basis (Germains Esotericas etc).
