I bought this Stanwell featherweight in the '70s. Unfortunately the stem got horribly oxidised and no amount of alcohol and pipe cleaners could get the rank sulphurous taste out. I sent it to a The Danish Pipe Shop and requested a shorter acrylic stem with a slight bend.
I much prefer the new Dublin/cutty look now

I agree that looks much better.

Nice pipe, both ways.

Years ago, (but for different reasons), I decided to turn a conventional-length meh, Charatan, into a more interesting, Charatan Churchwarden. I did the unusual conversion, by having a second, optional-stem, made for the pipe. The dual pipes, looked great, either way. When the occasion was just right,....... and no one was looking....I could easily "Viagra-tize" the shorter version of the pipe and change it into a longer version, just by swapping the stems. After all, Sigmund Freud hypothesized that the pipe ....is a phallic symbol. Perhaps, I was unconsciously, compensating?

They say an extra inch, or two ....can make all the difference.

Ok, I was going to say the Danish Pipe shop are real wizards, I wondered how it gained the nub!

Look perfect to me.

Didn't one of the pipe makers offer a resto-mod service at one time? He completely altered the look of the pipe, and put a special stamp on it, to denote it had been altered. I can't recall the pipemakers name .

The Danish Pipe Shop offers new P-lip stems for Petes and Stanwell stems.
If your Winslow pipe needs re-stemming, they will send it to Poul to do the job.
