After some discussion of cherry aromatics on Forums, I included Altadis Wild Cherry in my order

to SPC, and report back on this Cavendish. There was an earlier discussion of tobaccos to recommend

to new pipe smokers, and this might be one of those. It is decidedly mild and subtle. The cherry

comes through more in the fragrance than the taste. Though the tobacco is quite moist, it lit immediately

and stayed lit, and produced no gurgles and absolutely no bite whatsoever. This is one you could

recommend to a new pipe smoker without fear of putting them off with harshness or high nicotine.

It sure won't overwhelm you with over-sweet cherry flavors or aftertaste. If you can go with really mild,

and subtle tobacco flavor, this might be a good first smoke of the day, or a rest between heartier blends.

I'm not enthralled, but I like it, and you might too.

Wow, I had no idea this recommendation would be such a bomb. Believe me, it ain't that bad! It won't

make your pipe smoking year, but it has its merits. Anyone? i.e., it's been some days since the post

and no one has responded.

Thanks for the review (don't feel too bad that no one replied - I totally missed it and I smoke aromatics!) I would also venture to say most on this forum do not, which would explain the lack of responses.
Most cherry's have a nice aroma but offer no cherry flavor - but it's nice that this one, even while wet, stayed lit.

Thanks for posting the review! The post slipped under my radar too. Maybe it was just a matter of timing,

or maybe it got passed over because a couple of other threads were already out there and folks thought yours was

one they had already visited. I was very impressed with the only Altadis product I had ever purchased, and I think

cherry blend aficionados might want to consider sampling this offering from them too.

mso489- I am intrigued. I like aromatics but have never tried any cherry blends and have been leery to do so for fear of permanently ghosting a pipe. Recently I've had an itch to try some so I'll have to give this one a try, maybe I'll buy a new cob just for my cherry adventures.
