After some discussion of cherry aromatics on Forums, I included Altadis Wild Cherry in my order
to SPC, and report back on this Cavendish. There was an earlier discussion of tobaccos to recommend
to new pipe smokers, and this might be one of those. It is decidedly mild and subtle. The cherry
comes through more in the fragrance than the taste. Though the tobacco is quite moist, it lit immediately
and stayed lit, and produced no gurgles and absolutely no bite whatsoever. This is one you could
recommend to a new pipe smoker without fear of putting them off with harshness or high nicotine.
It sure won't overwhelm you with over-sweet cherry flavors or aftertaste. If you can go with really mild,
and subtle tobacco flavor, this might be a good first smoke of the day, or a rest between heartier blends.
I'm not enthralled, but I like it, and you might too.
