Why are they the ones that are disappearing? Have any of you noticed this?

Disappearing may be the wrong word, but most recently Picayune.. as one who seeks out the stronger blends, It seems like those are the most likely to be hard to find.. So someone must be buying them. Yet most, I'd guess 80%, of blends are little or no nicotine at all.
C&D has some heavy hitters.. but they are the medium kind of strong. I'm talking about those blends that give you a satisfying case of the hiccups.

Never had that happen, though the only tobacco I've tried with any nicotine was Rustica, though I had to overdo it to feel it. For me, cigarettes still have more nicotine than any pipe tobacco I've smoked.
Most people do not have this experience, though.
I've just not really ran into a strong pipe tobacco, and I smoke very large pipes.
Is Picayune getting hard to find? I‘ve got a decent amount cellared so I haven't paid attention lately but this is disturbing news.
One of the strongest blends nicotine wise I've got is Royal Yacht. You should be able to get it pretty easy.
American spirits are the only cigs I’ll smoke, any gaiwith tobacco will hit the spot. The only time I’ll get nic sick is if I smoke to much when drinking black coffee, then I’ll sneeze and be right again lol.

May just be tangled up in the transfer like the lack of availability of Dunhill during the Peterson transition.
Everybody has a different experience. I find a few blends to be a good replacement for cigarettes.. Its not the same thing, the feeling is different.. but those blends kill the cravings. They are the hardest to find, in my experience.
Have you considered smoking cessation techniques to get past the nicotine need? Patches or gum?
It's part of my long term plan. I really want to smoke strictly for flavor.. I haven't bought any patches yet. I'm just not there yet.. I have cut the cigarettes down to just a few a day.
Unfortunately, I've found too many of the supposed nicotine strong blends taste like crap. I did smoke some Bold Kentucky tonight, it was rather good but I didn't feel any nicotine.
That may be the reason they hold a smaller shelf space. I've found a couple of my favorites to be an acquired taste, something like a cold cup of strong coffee.
