I was browsing online tobacco shops for flake and every site I went to was out of everything I would have bought. I wasn't going to buy anything, just trying to see how much my next TAD order was going to be. Do they run out for a long time? I mean, I'm sure they will have what I want by the first of the year. I just found it interesting that the 3 major online tobacco retailers, P&C, Smoking Pipes, and 4noggins were all out of the same tobacco.

The flake is gone. Why is the flake always gone?
On a more serious note, the last time I ordered Pete Irish Flake from P&C it was out but they got it back in in around three days. With that said, that happened during the site-wide sale during the Chicago Pipe Show so they might had already had more on order. By the first of the year, I bloody-well hope they can restock.

If you're talking about Stokkebye Flakes, there seems to be a supply problem ..... there is at least one place that has them in stock though  but it's not one of the sponsors ...

Shawn, with your flake reviews, I'm not surprised that they're all sold out. Like what Baron is gonna do to the Storient inventory.

I had to hunt around a little for PS LBF at a decent price.

Hehe, buffers running sweet. Learning the lessons of keeping a firm grip and bouncing briar. Looking forward to the review.

For those who have tried it, what is your opinion of Samuel Gawith FVF? Is it as good as evryone claims?

I was mailing one of the big stores, because I wanted to order JackKnife Plug. All he could say is it was in order, but could not say anything about when. I think diffrent producers ship out at different dates, but seems like some brands can be out of stock for a long time.

I just tried a tobacco I received in a trade with Carpenter Chris. It's Park-Lane Connoisseurs Flake. It's not the traditional flake tobacco,, but my lord is this stuff great. Thanks for all the informative responses.

I have not had any difficulty finding any of my favorites except for one( Hamborger Veermaster) and that came back recently. I have found that between the big guys and all the little guys out there, anything can be had. Sometimes it takes some leg work, but the hunt is part of the fun. A couple of months ago I was looking for SG FVF and St James Flake and found pounds of it at a small retailer and cleaned him out. If the big giys are out of something it usually isn't too long before they have it back in stock. I always sign up for email notification and that works nicely.
