12 is a good number, more than you can use in a week, allowing plenty of rest in-between.
However, what happens when you find the 13th pipe you "have" to have or the 14th and there's none you want to get rid of? Save yourself the heart ache and treat yourself and your future pipes to a new rack. ??

I’m not going to show how I keep my pipes, some are racked. Some are just stacked on top of each other. Some are in a plastic bin. It’s all very random.

Get a much bigger rack, and keep that one and the pipes in it. Then tell yourself you'll never need another pipe. We all do.
