Hello, I get over to Birmingham every so often. I've been looking for a nice place to visit that is pipe related. Your meeting sound pretty nice. I am located over towards Columbus MS about 30 miles from to the state line. Birmingham is about a 1hr45min drive. Not bad at all really. I often have to drive it to hit the VAMC.
I have been puffing a pipe for near two years off and on. Nothing fancy just some briars and nice tobacco. This year I have decided to take a stab at growing my own tobacco. I currently have 25 different strains growing that are almost ready for the garden. My plan is to harvest and cure the tobacco to use in pipe blends.
Anyways, I would love to plan a trip up to your meeting sometime this summer. It sounds like a great time.

Awesome Greenmonster, we'd be honored to have you join us. We have a couple of members who drive from your way to every meeting. Maybe, you guys can all get a carpool going.
May's meeting will be on the 8th.
In June we will have a different day to meet. Max Stokkebye will be joining us, from Lane LTD. He will be answering tobacco related questions and hosting a tobacco blending demonstration and contest. It should be great fun. This will either be on June 5th or 26th, depending on when we get that scheduled with him.
But, come on out for the May meeting, and get to know the guys, and we have one lady. We will swap tobaccos, pipes, and just have fun. Then in June, you wont want to miss that one.

Can't say for sure but I shall try to make the May meeting. June sounds exciting as well. Should I bring food or anything like that? This would be my first meeting of this kind. Strange I've been down here a while now and have never run into another pipe smoker. It will be great to meet like minded folks. Thanks
Perique, we got guys that drive from other states. Plus, we've been talking on here for years, and it'd be about time to meet.
No need to bring anything but your favorite blends and pipes. But, everyone will have blends that you can sample or trade. Some guys bring adult beverages or coffee for us teetotalers. Plus, if youre buying, Skip has a whole wall of tins and bulks to choose from.
