I am a data scientist by trade and education and specialize in AI and Machine Learning and let me tell you, it will be perfected some day and when it does, it will be terrifying and it is coming far sooner than anyone imagines. The only thing currently limiting it is legislation

We came damned close to losing all legislation concerning AI, completely legally unfettered deployment, in the BBB, but the Senate removed that language.

There's going to be enormous dislocation down the road as more services and manufacturing get automated.

One thing that AI still lacks that all animals have is an instinct for self preservation. If it somehow acquires that, look out. The first one that does will soon control or absorb all the other versions and will have absolute power over us.

That isn't necessarily the problem The big issue is that the people coding AI give it free reign to just make stuff up if it can't find an answer. That's how we get AI generated images of black Nazis or the many instances of lawyers using AI and getting case law that never existed.
