Adding Tobacco While Smoking.

I can't seem to get an answer elsewhere, so I'm turning here. Are you able to add more tobacco into the bowl while smoking to prolong to smoke?

I mean basically a pipe burns from the top down so it would be akin to sticking the end of a cigar or cigarette into tobacco.. it's not going to burn the same.

Yep. I tried adding tobacco once. Once was enough.

I thought this thread was going to be about a horrible accounting mistake that OP made while distracted by smoking.

Brobs is right. Think about it, you'd be smoking thru ash. Did you ever see someone turn a cigar around and smoke it thru the lit end? (Other than in the Three Stooges I mean)

I have found that given the contemplative nature of pipe smoking, that during a bowl I tend to add my $.02 worth more than usual... so there's that.

Yeh, I'm doing my taxes, so I just assumed you meant math.
Yeh, adding tobacco isn't going to be as good as you'd think... as mentioned. But, if you are going to turn around and smoke more, it would be way better to use a fresh pipe. I find that using the same pipe back to back chain smoking, tends to taste muted, unless you at least let the pipe cool down well. YMMV

I think you may be on to something here. Cube cut and then have a mini motorized auger attachment like on the pellet grills..... Sure is tastes like shit,, but at least you don't have to pick up that pesky lighter any more.

I've tried this, with halfway decent results, but only after clearing away any and all already burnt leaf from the bowl, and throwing a little more on top of the baccy thats left in the bottom. It wasn't terrible. But for my money, your best bet is to smoke the whole bowl, toss the ash, and pack a half bowl if you want a bit more.
