So my uncle brought me some clove cigarettes called kreteks back from Indonesia and I really enjoyed them. I started thinking it might be fun to add ground cloves in with my tobacco when smoking a pipe. Also it might be fun to look through my spice cabinet to see what else I could add in with some tobacco. I know vanilla extract is popular as well as adding booze. Anyone use other herbs or spices?

I would leave the blending to the professionals, but that's my opinion.
I think cloves have a very nice aroma and subtle flavor that I wouldn't mind seeing in a blend.
Altadis makes a blend that I've tried called "Black Spice" which has some interesting flavor. Might be right up your alley if you enjoyed clove cigs. Once upon a time I had a brief love affair with clove cigs too.
I would like to see a professional's take on melding cloves with tobacco.

Kreteks are great. I was exclusively smoking them after I quit cigs originally. Some kreteks, like Dajirums sold in the US (as 'mini-cigars', thanks to Gvt. banning flavored cigs), actually have no clove in the tobacco. They 'drip' tiny bits of clove oil instead. If you look at the paper, you'll notice tiny 'drop' spots staining it. Clove oil's pretty potent stuff, too. If you want to try it, I'd reccomend you use a tiny bit of clove and use it in a pipe you can dedicate to experimenting (or tossing) with. Even then, I doubt it'll come out the same and you'll be out a clove-y smelling pipe.
Drew Estate made a clove cigar called Tiki Clove or some-such. Could try that instead. Be cheaper than ruining a good pipe. :puffpipe:
