If you check out the post to this forum titled "A Work in Progress - Part1" you can see the before pictures of a cute little pipe I am working on for a friend of mine. You can read the backstory on this pipe in the original post as well. I thought I would show you all where I am at this point. I have a bit/stem material on the way and hope to be ready to fit it to the stummel/bowl as soon as it gets here. I have sanded the bowl to 2000 grit, reamed it, and salt/alcohol treated it as well. I have also cleaned the stinger.
Originally my friend wanted it restored to as close to original as possible, including the finish. After he saw the bowl today he decided he prefered the natural briar look. As you can see in the last pic, there are 2 small fills on the bowl, but the pictures make them look a lot worse than they really are.
