A Turkish Missouri Meerschaum?

Looking at Missouri Meerschaum pipes at an online retailer, I noticed that a recent addition to the offerings is a acrylic stemmed pipe that specifies, under "Origin" the surprising answer: Turkey. A MM cob made in Turkey? After more than a century of making all MM cobs in Washington, Missouri, outside St. Louis? I guess this is just the way of the world. Pipe makers just can't resist the siren call of lower labor costs abroad, but this information startled me. I hope this doesn't affect the sheltered workshop employees said to be a long-time part of the Missouri Meerschaum culture. The pipe itself looks very appealing, and I am resisting it only because I already have many cobs that I enjoy regularly. And yes, the price is nice for a MM cob with acrylic stem.

where is it? I bet some intern made a mistake. You know they were told all Meerschaums are from Turkey. Oh you can PM which site if you want

Sometimes meerschaums are jokingly called Turkish corncobs. I think they made a mistake in this case.

Sad news. Maybe it's few of their low end ones? I did notice MM putting out good number of new shapes.
