Excuse me for saying this, but in the top down picture the stem looks to "cut in" a bit at the button, or is it just that the repaired button is protuding more? No matter what, the pipe looks great.

I think it may be a bit of both haha. I was rushing a bit because I was so eager to see it completed, and since it’s for personal use, I was happy settling with “good enough” knowing that I could perfect it later if it ever bothered me too much.
