After perusing this site for several years and enjoying the invaluable information provided by all, I finally joined today.
I will preface this by admitting that albeit educated, I am extremely ignorant in the realm of Internet “forums.” For example, I have no idea what “bump” means, how to send a “PM,” or how to direct a specific message/Thanks to a particular member. So, as for any content I may submit, PLEASE be brutally honest in your constructive criticism. For my entire career, for which I am recently retired, my actions in both training (constant) and in its actual application, were severely criticized. I do not get “hurt feelings;” I strive to improve.

Anyway, I am from the great State of Michigan. I have been enjoying pipes and various tobaccos for over twenty-years. Based on some member’s pipe careers, I realize I am still a “Rookie” and have much to learn. This forum is the best place for that education.

Thank you again to all members for their tutelage over the years, and please assist me in NOT acquiring any “points.”

Welcome aboard from central North Carolina. I used to camp at my family's property in eastern Michigan, near a crossroads town, Holton, just northeast of Muskegon. The old farm house was still standing, though gutted, and the property has a cold water creek running through it. The land was eventually sold to a Christmas tree farmer.

Adding the @ symbol to the front of a member's name, alerts them, just as I have done here.
