You are right to have concerns with the health risks inherent in smoking.
If you are truly worried, then DON'T start

But everything you do come with inherent risks.
Every time you get into a vehicle - car, bus, train, plane.
You could choke to death eating a ham sandwich
I know someone who suffered a significant injury when a brick from a building fell on his head when he was walking around a city street.
Even the bed you lie in is not necessarily safe.

Not trying to increase your anxiety levels.
Just saying 😉

Met a guy, friend of a friend, that had a huge scar on his head, turns out he was getting into an elevatory and the doors were closing, instead of the sensors actually working it kept closing and he pulled back out and it literally closed on his head and cracked his skull, 2.5 million dollar settlement ... some guys have all the luck ... well besides the giant scar across his skull, personally i'd just wear a hat.

So let me start by saying that I have never smoked any nicotine or tobacco and I don't plan on doing so, no shade to those who are, I am just to afraid of the health problems that might come. I would also like to add that this is my first post in the forum.

So basically, I think that smoking a pipe looks really cool and I would like to have that look, so I am searching for a way to smoke a pipe, without smoking anything dangerous like tobacco and nicotine.
In order to find a way to achieve this goal, I started by searching all of the risks of smoking a pipe, but every website assumed that I was smoking tobacco/wanted to smoke tobacco, is anyone aware of a way for me to compile all the reasons pipe smoking is dangerous so that I could search a way to circumvent them?

It seems to me that you're conflicted between wanting to do something without doing it. The problem is that if you pretend to smoke a pipe, then I'd argue that you're doing more harm to your image than good. Before I began pipe smoking, I had never smoked anything before and consciously did so. My mind shifted after considering that you don't inhale the smoke as well as my complete lack of concern with the risks of alcohol. I feel that if you freely drink alcohol but worry about smoking a pipe or cigar, you're ok with getting hit by a left hook while worrying about a right hook.

Something to consider is the difference between pipe/cigar tobacco & cigarette tobacco. Pipe tobacco is not processed like cigarettes with unnecessary chemicals which causes a lot of challenges when trying to do research. If you wanted to experience tobacco, the pipe is one of the better ways of doing it (the other way being through a cigar). There are also filters that certain kinds of pipes are compatible with which may help ease your mind.

Just gonna leave this here how you get your nicotine is your business but avoiding nicotine can cause a lot of other problems that I for one wish to circumvent with as many pipes a day as I can

Emerging Benefits of Nicotine

Nicotine promotes wakefulness, alertness, motivation, and creativity. Further, nicotine has proven beneficial in several health conditions including dementia, depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s disease thus bringing this drug under the scope of large-scale research.

The following are some of the potential benefits of this nootropic drug and its associated effect on health:

  • Helps prevent Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s - Clinical research on animal models suggests that nicotine protects against neuronal degeneration, improves motor abilities, and aids cognitive performance, thus cutting down the risk of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. Another study suggests that nicotine intake in Parkinson’s patients’ enhanced their processing speed of complex tasks.
  • Promotes wakefulness - Nicotine enhances the brain’s electrical activity and induces a state of alpha brainwave activity, which enhances attention, alertness, and creativity. The drug also enhances areas of the brain related to arousal, visual attention, and motor activation. Nicotine acts on the brain’s thalamus, parietal cortex, occipital cortex, and caudate.
  • Boosts memory - Nicotine acts on the brain’s visual attention and attention processing regions thus boosting memory and cognitive performance.
  • Reduces ADHD symptoms - In ADHD patient’s, nicotine is known to reduce the severity of the symptoms. The drug increases attention, vigor, accuracy, and reaction time in nonsmoking patients. For ADHD patients who are quitting tobacco and experiencing withdrawal symptoms, nicotine can help relieve minor feelings of nervousness.
  • Functions as a neuroprotective - Nicotine functions as neuroprotective by stimulating the nicotinic cholinergic receptors in the brain, blocking estrogen, and reducing inflammation.
The benefits of nicotine to help with weight loss

  • Promotes weight loss - Clinical trials on animals observed that nicotine has the ability to suppress appetite and prevent weight gain. Nicotine can improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar levels.
  • Supports a healthy gut - Studies show that nicotine patches improve ulcerative colitis by decreasing inflammation in the lining of the gut. It also provided relief from inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Repairs tissue - Nicotine stimulates the body in a way that increases the growth of blood vessel capillaries and tissues, repairing damage and accelerating healing. Nicotine applied topically in low concentrations in the form of a nicotine patch appears to support rapid wound healing.

If you wanted to experience tobacco, the pipe is one of the better ways of doing it (the other way being through a cigar)
You left out cigarettes which are not surrounded by chemically infused paper, luxury cigarettes. But, the fact remains no matter what your choice of nicotine delivery system is, it is not efficacious in the least. Depending on your genetic makeup the pipe might be worst of all if you are unknowingly developing any problem with the brain, nose, mouth, heart, etc. No type of tobacco use is healthful. Weigh the risks against your perceived reward and make a considered, well thought out, decision. Further, asking for health advice in a smoking/tobacco site is ... well ... you make the call.

The rebuttal above involves only lab grade nicotine delivered under controlled laboratory conditions. None of us here are using such nicotine under such conditions.

I smoke and enjoy nicotine but, I made a well reasoned decision, years ago. There is nothing efficacious/healthful about tobacco use. Period. Just accept that your decision to smoke is selfish, unhealthful and enjoyable. The risks come with the match/lighter, tobacco is pretty benign without one or the other..

I'm a couple years shy of 80, have beaten the averages, I attribute such only to my genetic makeup. I'm a mutt I believe, I took only the strongest genes available in my pool. Lucky me, I've wasted a small fortune over the years on my wee but, enjoyable vice and love of nicotine.

More of a trolling kerfuffle than a serious nuanced rebuttal. Though I must say that addiction aside I'm a better person generally speaking when I use nicotine. My creative instincts dried up completely when I quit smoking for 6 years and I was truly miserable and lethargic in most ways. Guess now I'm a nicotine advocate but perhaps for selfish reasons. ;)

I would say just throw an empty pipe in your mouth but you're likely going to get roasted at some point if you're clenching an unlit, unpacked pipe in your mouth that's never been smoked. Wouldn't that undercut using the pipe for affectation? I feel like I'm being trolled here.. rotf

I think I mentioned it on another thread. Get a pipe that you think you'll look good with. Stuff it with some cotton balls and drip it with food grade mint oil. You can have the fanciest lollipop without sucking on it.

If someone scrutinizes your "pipe smoking" too closely you could blow out a cotton puff and pretend it was smoke. puffy I think this is a good option.
