A Reunion Lunch with Three Schoolmates

Quite a few years (decades really) since I was at school.
So it’s good to see schoolmates from time to time - boarding school does make for some strong bonds.

4 of us met for lunch today ahead of larger class and school lunches this coming weekend

The wine


Freshly shucked Pacific oysters


Pork rillettes and a roasted beetroot and feta salad

Grilled scallops

Happy to say the wines matched the food well

We were lunching at my favourite wine bar (in Sydney) where the owner is kind enough to allow me to BYO

My 45th high school reunion was last weekend. I'm still good friends with a number of my classmates and we have them every five years. This is only the 2nd one I've missed (too much work happening at the new home in Louisiana to leave). I was a bit sad to have missed it.

That food looks incredibly delicious!

The anti-smoking laws in Oz means that there are very few places to indulge in a cigar.
