Thank you so much for all the prayers and support. A weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I feel honored and blessed to be part of such a great community! I will keep this thread updated as things progress. I'll be heading home this weekend for Easter to spend some time with my family. It will be hard to not be able to give him a bear hug, but it will be nice to see him.

I would contact his doctor and insist they do a spinal tap looking for viral or bacterial meningitis. I had viral meningitis twice and both times the pain in the back of my head was excruciating. I am amazed that no one has thought of that yet and tested for it. My prayers go out to your brother and yourself.

Just want to give an update on what's been happening.

My brother was taken to the ER for an MRI yesterday because he was in so much pain he couldn't walk. They took front, back, and side MRI's and they all came back normal. No diagnosis yet, but the results have ruled out a lot of things so it is a step in the right direction. They have moved him to a new medicine for nerves, and all of his medical care has been moved to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I showed my family this thread and they were blown away by the response.

I don't know how I missed this thread a week ago my friend but I hope things get better soon and will be thinking and praying for the best for your brother and family.

As many have already stated we are all friends here and will all let you bend our ear when needed, and give as much support as possible.

Have they done a spinal tap? If nothing is showing up on a CAT scan or MRI, I agree with cigrmaster, I think a spinal tap may be in order. White Blood Cell count doesn't always go up in meningitis. Did they do the scans with and without contrast? They don't always do either scan with contrast media. Whatever the cause of your brother's pain, I hope they find and treat it quickly and completely.
