My nightmare has ended and I have finally made it back home. I would like to thank everyone for their kind words while I was in the midst of what just about amounted to a Stephen King novel. All is well now and I am preparing to get myself back on track here at home. Again, the members of this forum have my gratitude for their kind support.

Yeah, I think the "Misery" post may just have lit a fire under me. And I thank you for that. I can assure THEY will NOT be coming back. That type of scenario is now a Dead Zone for me. It has turned me into The Running Man!

Well, I'm not exactly sure how lucid she may have been, but she did, indeed, drive me to the bus station. Although she was party to the event, I do look at it as an escape!

I can answer that now. I think I had about 40 or so with me because I like to cycle through a few pipes throughout the day and then rest them for a bit. I figured the rural setting would be a great place to smoke a pipe, and it definitely was, so I wanted to have a good assortment of my favorites with me. I had them in three large sunglass cases and a few in individual cases. I had them in my checked bag and everything made it down to NC, GA and back to NYC unscathed. I will admit, I was a bit nervous until I had them unpacked and back where they belong, but everything turned out fine.
