They do take some getting used to. I’ve noticed that it works best if you don’t overfill it also.

The jet tube is the same concept as a generator in a Coleman lantern. The fluid becomes a gas vapor. You don’t get the same fluid taste as you do from a regular Zippo type lighter. And they work well in cold weather.

I have noticed the lack of taste too
