Well they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and tonight I got a text from my second oldest son. He is now of age and wants me to teach him the art of pipe smoking. My oldest is a pipe smoker and I look forward to passing this hobby on to another son. The twins are 17 so a few years yet before they can get a pipe but they have expressed interest. My wife says I'm a bad influence on my boys..lol.

I'm trying brother. Their great grandfather smoked pipes so I'm not the only pipe smoker they have been around. He gave me his pipes before he passed. Soon I will pass down those pipes to them. A rite of passage.

I agree. A great way to bond also at a time in their lives when they usually distance themselves from family.

The pipes I got were from the 40's into the 60's. Grabow, Yello Bole, Wilber, Captain Fortune, Medico, Royalton, Nob Hill.....I do smoke them on occasion.

Absolutely. My boys never picked up cigarettes, going straight to the pipe.

Most definitely. This will give me an excuse to buy more tobacco. We'll be going through many blends until we start honing in on what he perfers. Christmas and birthday shopping just got easier.

Both my parents smoked cigarettes. I started with cigarettes and realised very soon after that I didn't like them and got onto pipes.
Now if I had a pipe smoking father or grandfather or uncles, it would have been a different story
