We need the 1966 Pipe Dan shape reformed stack in the foreground, or it didn't happen.

Joking aside, that's amazing. We were hoping to see something akin to this in Iceland, but, were there the wrong time of year.

How long was the sky like that?
Haha I don't have night pictures, but I have some I took earlier that day on the deck. I smoked the same pipe and blend that night because I was too lazy to go back downstairs to switch it up :ROFLMAO: 341F2E3E-7ECA-49C5-91FE-A5A8372161A5.jpgIMG_7425.JPEG

I always think about what must have gone through the head of the earliest humans who saw this. What the heck they must have thought was happening. Knowing about science it still feels like magic to me now.
Hahaha, I always think about the same thing. I'm sure as a species we've known of it's existence since we were monkeys (or whatever you believe as far as human origins). But what they MEAN I'm sure has varied greatly from culture to culture.

I see you’ve come out of your winter hibernation... LOL

Hey, so funny you mention a 1966 Pipe Dan, have a look;

Hahaha, yeah, I've just been INSANELY busy lately. Yeah, there has been quite a few various old PDs popping up lately. What an incredibly unique catalog they had at that time.

I am thinking if to my mind the furtherest horizon I've seen might be the literal ends of the earth, then surely something like the aurora must have taken an extra layer of mind blown. Though who knows some people now could see that and say "I can't eat it or make money off it so who cares".

Pipe smoking is almost always enjoyable. But sometimes nature helps you out, and it becomes an almost surreally pleasurable experience. Last night on my back deck I was enjoying some Boswell's private stock Va/per in a 1966 Pipe Dan shape reformed stack, and the night sky decided to come alive.

Gods canvas! Thank you for sharing. I remember one time when I lived in NY as a whisper snapper I observed the Aurora borealis and was completely perplexed and fascinated. Natures exhalation of magnificent tobacco. Thank you for sharing!

Mesmerizing is the word. My neck hurt the next day from looking up for so long hahaha.
Some times I used to walk to a deer stand way back around 3 am so I could get settled in and not disturb anything. Normally I’d doze off until it began to get light.

One particular time, just after I got settled the sky began pulsating with greenish waves that intensified, then bright rays raced across the sky with brilliant reds and purples, yellow and green. It was so bright it lit up the ground.

I sat there watching for several hours. The predawn light edged them out eventually, followed by sunrise. About a half hour later I downed a nice 10 point whitetail.

Hell yeah man, ideal! Best auroras ive ever seen were at the moose camp. The night after my buddies 13 year old killed his first bull. Doesn’t get any better than that!
