A Privileged Pipe Smoking Moment

Pipe smoking is almost always enjoyable. But sometimes nature helps you out, and it becomes an almost surreally pleasurable experience. Last night on my back deck I was enjoying some Boswell's private stock Va/per in a 1966 Pipe Dan shape reformed stack, and the night sky decided to come alive.

Preben was just a youngster at 16 years of age when he sold his first pipe to Pipe Dan in 1963 and only 3 years later he carved this stunning XL Acorn in 1966 that shockingly remains unsmoked after 56 years!

I always think about what must have gone through the head of the earliest humans who saw this. What the heck they must have thought was happening. Knowing about science it still feels like magic to me now.

Joking aside, that's amazing. We were hoping to see something akin to this in Iceland, but, were there the wrong time of year.

How long was the sky like that?
