In the past Kevin's answer to these types of inquiries is simple.

It isn't the business model.

Lawrence I know one can't use the name, but I was just thinking since this is a pipe forum and we all smoke pipes it only makes sense if Kevin would authorize a blender to make a blend for us.

Yeah I don't think SJ intended to do a blend, he was just floating the idea.
I can see Kevin not wanting to do it because then he'd have to pick A single blender, and then other sponsors would be slighted, et cetera et cetera...
Especially if PM is an online only entity, then it's probably not in the cards to branch out into the actual tobacco business.

Kevin authorized the PM Meer. At the time he authorized it, Storient Meerschaum was a sponsor.

I guess we will have to wait until the man himself responds. I'm not saying it would never happen, I'm just saying that there are also precedents against it - even though the Storient meer affirms a similar practice.

the PM2012 was th eone exception that Kevin has made. This subject comes up once in awhile and Kevin usually jumps in and says "Hell No." Another reason I had to get a PM2012 Meer. Probably never happen again!

I say no PM Blend. I'd want a Lat blend made by Greg, others would want an aromatic, others would want other. Forget sponsers feeling slighted for not being chosen to blend it, consider the members who'd feel slighted when a blend way outside of their smoking preferences was chosen to be made the official pm blend!

I was just thinking, because the yahoo pipe smokers have their blend, but then again they don't have sponsors!

No he isn't. I read on another thread that he is cutting his advertising budget some. Hopefully he will be back soon but only time will show.
