I'm going to repeat what's been said.... it works fine on my phone :nana: But seriously, I get that it's kind of chore using on a phone because the screen is so small you have to zoom in on everything while scrolling both up and down and everywhere else and then zoom out again while trying to see everything. Another suggestion is use a tablet, such as an iPhone or Amazon Fire HD. I use an Amazon Fire when I don't feel like lugging my laptop around when out and about and it's absolutely great for Pipesmagazine. Turn it sideways and you see everything as you would on your computer screen. Much better than using a phone.

Somehow today's Dilbert strip just seems like it belongs here. Not sure why really...but it is funny...and it is at least tangentially relevant to the thread.

Browsing the desktop on mobile is not bad here because you can still either tap on the thread title or the page box, and that's about it in terms of active links in that area of the touchscreen. There's another forum out there that had the same setup, but then changed it to add the OPs handle under the title. Now, 50% of the time I am hitting someones handle and going to their stupid bio instead of hitting the title or page number to go right into the thread. Plus, they have a Tapatalk pop-up every time I move through anything in an attempt to get me to switch. I won't say that I don't go there anymore, but I basically don't go there anymore.

That's a great idea.

It's normal people don't like changes but once they see an improvement they often accept it and like it more than the previous state.

Thanks to everyone who is trying to do something to make these forums more phone-friendly.

I guess it depends on how you define "works". Tapatalk sites I can read on my phone with one hand by just scrolling with my thumb. Links are large enough to also tap with my thumb. It's just a lot easier. There's no sliding the page around looking for page buttons or constantly pinch zooming and expanding.
No zooming or anything on my phone. When I say "works", I mean no chore. Links are large enough, and I don't have to slide the page around. A 6.5 inch touch screen works great with this format.

Hey Kevin, I appreciate the thorough reply. I didn't mean to stir up a hornets' nest with this post ... The website runs perfect on a desktop computer, but I have to agree with anthonyrosenthal74, zooming in and out on a mobile device can be tricky. Not to mention, whenever you write a PM and hit the back button hoping to get back to your inbox you get back to your message box sort of like editing. No big deal, just some minor details ... definitely forget about it if it's too much trouble, and DO NOT BRING THE FORUM OFFLINE  :puffy:

I just opened this site on my Iphone 7 the biggest one they have. I use the Safari browser that came with the phone and this site loads up just like it does on my computer, just smaller. If I had to use only my phone I would have trouble with my big fingers, but I could just get one of those pen things to tap the screen.
Kevin, be careful, you saw what happened to smokers.uk when their site went down. They lost everything and the place has literally died. If there is a risk of you losing stuff, I wouldn't mess around. If it ain't broke............
