Ah, how cool. You could all sit around and share a blend. That would be so nice. My brother walking past took one toke on the pipe I was smoking and coughed and spluttered declaring it terrible ... sigh. ?

The one in the middle. The other two went to my son and son-in-law....also pipe smokers.

Wow, they are luvley pipes! Will definitely add them to my list. Although I didn’t have any intention of heading up that way but perhaps I’ll have to head in that direction one day.

Fantastic! I have lived Spain and do plan to return.
Thanks for this. Will have a look through their pipes online. But next time I’m in Barcelona I’ll deff be buying a pipe! Walk around la familia sagrada and chuff away. ?
Probably my most favourite building in the world ..

Spanish pipe brands:
Bruken, Emilio Navarro, Ena (all of these belong to the same company), Bonet, Jean Pierre Soler, Edmund.
Most are factory made pipes, some of them in the business for more than a century. When you see the warehouses, the machinery and the amount of briar they have curing, you wonder where it all goes. There is one big factory which is not associated to any pipe brand in Valencia, I guess they have to sell their production somewhere, an operating factory needs income.

Ah, awesome! Thank you.
Montreal is such an awesome place! I definitely would like to return. 4 generations, really!? That is just too cool. This is going at the top of the list!!!

Now that Brighams are made in other countries, for Canada I’d go with Blatter & Blatter. Four generations, since 1907, in Montreal. They’ve got everything from inexpensive workhorses with fills, etc, to distinctive handmade pipes, all made in Montreal.

I just did some research on the Big Ben and Hilson pipes for a different thread.

Gubbels, the company producing the Big Ben, Hilson and Porsche pipes does not exist anymore following a recent bankruptcy. Sad days.

Ah, that sucks! I’ll scratch them off my list. Thank you for letting me know!

I love my Danish Stanwells. I don't think they are made there anymore but estates abound, and at reasonable prices.

Cool thank you. I’d really like to buy new I think. Support the local businesses that are keeping an awesome art going.

Vauen – Germany
Savinelli – Italy

Given a modest budget, of course, not too low, not too high; hence I didn't list Castello or a German carver's.

Yeah, you get me. I am happy to spend a few quid on pipes but if I want a collection I don’t think I’ll go top end.

Not much is more American than a corn cob pipe. puffy

Totally! I didn’t even think of that!! Corn cob pipes don’t really grab me but perhaps I’ll have to swing by Virginia and grab some leaf from the source and a corn cob pipe..
