@jpants - The pipe tobacco included is Classic Black. Our #1 best selling tobacco!
@unclebuck - Yes, the Carey Magic Inch Pipes use Papyrate filters. They are also available on our website.
@gwtwdbss - William Miller, the president of Carey's Smokeshop, is working on it!

I guess you could call the papyrate sleeve a filter, yet smoke doesnt pass tru the sleeve, but absorbs. I believe Carey also offers stem replacement and one can have a pipe converted to magic inch system if ya fall in love with this method. The sleeves are inexpensive. There are a lot of magic inch pipes on ebay estate, reasonable prices, and quite a variety of styles. I just saw a calabash this AM. I have 1 really nice magic inch with flame grain & a cumberland stem.

I ordered a package. I had a Magic Inch pipe, bought from Ebay, quite some time ago. Was not really impressed with it, but am quite willing to give it another go. I am a Grabow lover, and there have a been a few that didn't do the trick, as well.

Just got mine in the mail! Nice looking rusticated Featherlight in walnut.

The baccy smells pretty good in the bag. Can't wait to break in the pipe with some tonight.

Thanks EA Carey and PM.com for a nice deal!

Rceived mine as well. Not the prettiest pipe but hey its a sweet deal for 20 bucks. I could smell the baccy before I opened the mail box, so might not be diving right in considering I have found that I am not to fond of aromatics... pipe seems to smoke alright, but I am almost tempted to cover these air slots....

Recap!!!! This pipe smokes quite well. Smoked a bit of Frog Morton and was very pleased with it after the first half was done. I will not be altering this pipe like i siad i might earlier. Actually might get a second...

Wonder if they will do the pipe for 15 and no tobacco, since the invoice said 5 for the baccy and 15 for the pipe...

Got mine today... and I can't tell what it's made of... a very fine jet black grit inside... do I need to clean it out first?
In any case... it was a generous deal... the tobacco smells nice and the pipe feels good. A good buy. Look forward to smoking it.

@jpants - We enter it that way in our system for inventory reasons. We cannot sell the pipe by itself for $15.00.
Glad to hear everyone is pleased. That makes us very happy!

@jpants - I have smoked several bowls in my Carey pipe now, and overall it smokes really well. I found that the magic inch vents, for me, alter the draw too much. I find that I can't "feel" the draw properly with the extra air flow coming in the stem. I end up packing it tighter until I am actually only drawing through the vents, and not the bowl. (Probably since I am a new pipe smoker, and just don't have the nuances down yet.)

But I put a piece of black electrical tape around the vents, it is invisible, and now the pipe draws perfectly for me. Not a knock on the pipe, but just thought if there was anyone else out there experiencing the same thing, they might want to know.

Here's a quick photo of mine... Got it along with the tobacco, extra papyrate filters and some clean and cure since I was running low. Could smell the baccy before I even opened the envelope it came in. Still haven't smoked it yet, as it has been really windy here the last three days and I am no longer able to smoke in the house...

Have no idea what shape it is.. Looks like a oversized Rhodesian that got stepped on.... 8O
