Well now, I'm not one for Mondays, but today is a Monday, and a pretty good one to boot!
Last week I received a DM from @Chalaw87, Shape Preference - "Do you like Dublin shaped pipes?"
Odd.
I replied that it was a random question, but yes I do in fact quite like Dublin shaped pipes, "why do you ask" I inquired... @Chalaw87 let me know he'd seen my post where I mentioned I don't own and have never tried a Peterson pipe, just an off handed comment I made, nothing I would have thought that would lead to me typing this today.
The message I received back intrigued me, I mean who would care if I had never tried a Peterson pipe?
"So I’m a big fan of Peterson. You commented a couple of weeks ago that you don’t have a Pete…yet. If you don’t mind, send me your address cause I’d like to get a Pete out to you so we can remedy that situation."
When I arrived home today, there it was waiting for me, my first Peterson pipe! A Peterson Emerald 120 P Lip Pipe Made In The Republic Of Ireland. Unsmoked with the vise marks still visible in the bowl. And as if a sign, there was another package waiting for me, my order of WCC Rouxgaroux.
So with new pipe in hand, and new tobacco in pouch, I put two and two, and loaded it up with Rouxgaroux.
Here's to you @Chalaw87, a very kind act, and one that will not be forgotten, I look forward to many a cool smoke in what is certainly my first Peterson, but which I can guarantee, will not be my last.
