Have any of you guys had a chance to try Krumme Original by Villager? I had a chance to have a chat over at dinner with a Swiss gentleman last night, that was smoking these and they looked quite wacky. He described them as being cured and somewhat lighter than a Toscano. He didn't offer me one and I did not ask, but now that I think of it I may buy a pack next time I am in Germany, just to be able to say I have experimented these.

A shop I managed carried Villagers and Dannemans 30+ years ago. I recall one or the other having a similar braided cigar. The dry cures were always a pleasant change of pace. There have been “braided” Havanas available for years, Culebras.

I really like the regular box pressed Villiger cigars. I smoked several boxes of them last summer, and will probably do the same next summer.

I've had them. It's mostly just a novelty smoke (and not good enough to be worth the trouble).

I am not sure how the ones in the picture you posted are supposed to be smoked, as a whole I guess since the sticks seem pretty stiff and would fall apart if one would try to unmingle them, but these can be smoked one by one. They are quite elastic ... and the tree branch aspect of the individual stick is supposed to aid in cooling smoke.

I'm too much of a rube to know about these. 'Glad to hear they're just a so-so smoke. Eases my lack of cosmopolitan polish.

Been fairly familiar with Villiger for a few years, used to smoke the Exports when I was working at CVS and they still sold tobacco.
The Krumme was actually very recently renamed, moving forward it will be known simply as Culebras (for sure in the US, not positive about overseas). I actually have a pack in front of me at my desk now.
Several non-cuban premium cigar brands also have culebras, most notably likely being the Oliva V (though good luck finding one). You don't smoke them all at once, the idea is to separate them and share with friends.
Villigers are, in my opinion, very solid cigars. Not strong, but not overly light, and the Exports are a bit heavier.
Also, Villiger Exports, and I believe some other lines sold overseas use Cuban short-filler.

Sorry, let me clarify. The Exports sold in the US use Cuban Seed tobacco, it's only the Exports available overseas filled with genuine Cuban leaf.

The legend i heard is that rollers were allowed to take home one cigar per day, so they started rolling culebras as a loophole. Three cigars in one apparently still counted as one cigar, but this could just be a funny rumor
