Beat the looming Canada Postal strike coming up in a Province Near You, fellow Canadians, with my brand new, 1950s vintage Rhodesian Meer. And what a beautiful pipe it is! Huge bowl, almost exactly the same dimensions and capacity as my Savinelli Avorio. Biggest pipes I have.

It'll get dedicated to aro-codgers and other similar fodder like TobaccoBarn's Cimmeron, Savinelli 140, SWR and others that I have in quantity and love to sit down with long smokes with a couple of evenings a week (I tend towards shorter 25 - 40 minute smokes as a de rigeur thing.)

My other pipe in transit, (a Mr Brog Nosewarmer in Black to partner the one in blond I have and love), will not be so lucky and will languish in storage in some God Forsaken place called Ottawa, until after the strike, as it was just shipped yesterday from Poland. However, for the time being, I'll revel in this beauty. It is what it is.

I know the name of the maker, but it's slipping my septogenarian mind right now.

I normally prefer more stylized and less traditional shaped meers. But that's just lovely.
