Get well soon. I had a few of those removed over the years and it's never fun but stay on top of it and you'll live to a ripe old age. I hate going to the doctor but I make a point of doing it twice a year now just to be safe. As they say "an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure" and that's particularly true with cancers. God speed in your recovery.

Talking with my doctor on Wednesday about men's health risks at 55 and over and he mentioned that skin cancer is something he sees quite a bit of vs. Prostate and colon cancers. Fact is that skin cancer is the easiest to detect so I'm glad you got yours dealt with quickly. I think the bandage looks pretty manly with the pipe hanging from your mug!

Glad you are recovering well from the surgery. No judgement here, Orley. Dealing with eating issues is a tough row to hoe.

Orley,

Keep up the spirits my friend, and be good to yourself.

I'm packing the cob right now, hope you have a speedy recovery.

Funny (not ha ha type) that on a tobacco smoking forum we are discussing skin cancer but every cancer risk should be taken seriously. Glad you have had this looked after... Best for the future!

Orley, here's wishes for a speedy healing and recovery, and good luck on Father's day. Woodsroad, here's hoping your visit Monday goes well. Let us know something later that day. Hoping the best.

Get rid of the bandage, get a wrap-around handkerchief and an eyepatch with your pipe. Then you'll look like a pirate. Seriously, I'm glad your doing well. My brother in law has a depressed immune system and routinely has to have small cancers on his head removed by laser periodiodically. Which, in a sense, goes to show you that in many cases cancer can be a manageable disease.

Full empathy here! Had a basal cell carcinoma removed a couple of times from the same area on my scalp. Well, likely two different ones. Anyway, first was done by plastic surgeon about 5 years ago, then the second last year via MOHS surgery. February had one removed from lower eyelid, removed over a third of lower lid (got a free partial facelift). Just Friday was diagnosed with another on my cheek that will likely also get MOHS procedure. It will, I'm sure, leave a nice scar, one that will support the swordfights... All this and I stay out of the sun as much as possible, wear 50+ SPF sunscreen if I cannot avoid being in the sun; however, damage was apparently done YEARS ago.
Yes, DO get checked if you have ANY questionable spots. And use sunscreen!

Orley:
Thank God you are OK.
Given the size of your bandage, you might consider leasing it out for advertising. Perhaps you could negotiate an arrangement with Kevin? :)
Best to you, the Missus, and your dog!
