Does anyone know when MacBaren stopped sending their pipe tobaccos to the US in 7 oz. tins?

I found a vintage 7 oz. tin of an old favorite, Symphony, that was imported by Fireside Industires of Moonachie NJ.

Any info greatly appreciated!

Not sure about when 7oz tins stopped coming here but here's an advert from 1970 for MacBaren's from Fireside Ind.

There are still 9 oz tines of some blends available, it seems - I could find larger tins of Mixture and Virginia #1 without too much trouble.

I emailed MacBaren & got the following response for Per Georg Jensen, product manager:
"I have tried to find out when the 7 oz tins were taken out of the US market, but unfortunately I have not been able

to find the facts. When Fireside Industries were the importer of Mac Baren tobacco we were selling 3,5 oz and

later on 7 oz tins in the US. When Fireside stopped as our importer we also stopped the 7 oz tins. This was in

the late 70ties, so the tins has to be dated from early to late 70ties."
Wow!!!

i have a tin of Scottish Mixture from 1977. When I opened it it was like new but extremely mellow. You should have a heck of a smoke in store for you. Enjoy it.
