Tough one to call. I guess it is up to the individual. I might let that one slide. Ask for more than you want on the discount in case they counter? My guess is they will just take it back.

No offense, but that pit is easily visible in the sellers pictures. He's a stand up guy, so he'll take it back without issue.

I saw what looked to be a black thread, not a pit, when I expand ed the pic on my phone. Yes, Bobby is one of the best ebay sellers!

I say keep it and smoke the heck out of it. Beautiful pipe, even with the pit. I might be strange, but I'd rather have a pipe with a pit than a fill.

There are no pits in my pipes, what you are seeing is an optical illusion, it is in your head. Now smoke the pipe and shut your ass up.
That's what we need more of around here. Some F%$#!NG DIPLOMACY!!

I felt that way also when I first looked at it, but it began to grow on me. Listed at 3.3 oz, it did not feel that heavy. Very well balanced! I think I'm starting to have returner remorse. Damn OCD!

If this is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, what an incredible waste of server space, and the seller's time and $$$. It was nice to see a really beautiful large piece of briar.

There is a lesson to be learned here - do not buy pipes based on pictures viewed on your cell phone. Here's a picture from the auction - on my laptop, it is clear as day. But, on my phone, it does look like fuzz. I've gotten burned myself on holes in stems, etc. Now, I try not to do a BIN via the phone, but I just did it again on a Sasieni that gets delivered tomorrow....so, I hopefully won't have a dose of my own advice.

I would be curious as to how it smoked. It ain't no pretty pipe, but eyes and beholders and all that... I think that curiosity would have gotten to me. I have smoked a gourd calabash, and while the smoke was very cool(er) on the tongue, It wasn't cold smoke by any means. I also realized that I can smoke a regular pipe slow enough that I didn't need any of the pipe gimmicks. But, my curiosity would have gotten the best of me. And, my luck the best smoking pipe would probably be one that was so ugly that it was embarrassing to take out in public ...and, my wife says the same thing about me. :puffy:
