A generous Gift

So at the Muletown Pipe Show this year, I asked a friend: "Hey Pal, do you have any McClelland Pipe Tobacco? I have never tried any and would love to bum a pinch of a blend of your choice." He said: "Yeah I got you"

So around the DnD table last night he presented me with an early Bday present:



The Wilderness is 2010
Blue Mountain is 2011
Frog Cellar 2012
Virginia Woods is 2005
The Fusilier's Ration doesn't have a date.(Any help there?)
Also two full to the brim jars of Mclelland: Mixture no 14 from '97 and a Bombay Extra from '95.

I was pretty blown away at the generosity.
I don't know anything about these other than tin description and internet reviews. I would love folks' feedback on the blends. Looks like they are all English to a degree aside from the Virginia Woods.

Cellar is the English to top all English blends and Virginia Woods is amazing.

Wilderness is also good but I think you'll have a better chance of enjoying it if you think of it as a Virginia with trace hints of English-ness.

Blue Mountain is the one created by Mike McNiel for the Balkan Sobranie contest at the Chicago Pipe Show 201?. It is very good. And no, it doesn't really taste like BS,
