A friend of mine who lives in Germany passed by a flea market, I told him to check some pipes for me.. And as he went in, he found a stand with some pipes on it and I instantly loved one of them, a lovely looking Tyrollean pipe that's quite exquisite yet simple and elegant..

So I asked him to buy it, which he managed to do for 10 Euros. And it seemed like in mint condition. Today it arrived and to my surprise it was unsmoked.. And while it looked old, it still had all its wood fresh and light coloured.. And it even tasted and smelled of an aromatic tree.

So I went home, and started cleaning it and to my other surprise, a new, white pipe cleaner wasn't even stained inside it.. Even with alcohol on it.. And gave the metal parts a good rub with good ole ashes, and turned out it is a silver coloured metal, still not sure if it is silver or not.. But it now looks beautiful

And normally, I will inaugurate her today with a generous amount of Frog Morton Cellar..

Cool Pipe! The stem is definitely made out of cherry wood. Could be that someone fashioned a new stem for it recently, as the bowl and cap look much older. Here's to a great smoke with it-- Congrats!!............ :puffy:

Interesting pipe. Been wondering how easy it is or isn't to smoke these types.

That is a sweet pipe, what a steal, and the craftsmanship that went into it is intriguing, please keep us posted on the history of it as you find out.

@Pagan.. Yeah, I indeed intend to search its history.. Hope I can find something as it literally has nothing stamped on it except "BRUYERE GARANTIE"

I may be wrong, but I don't beleave it's a replacement stem. I have had these for many years.

@scrooge

That's a beautiful collection. And if hou had these for years then probably it isn't a replacement stem

Ahmad, is that pipe put together backwards?
In scrooge's photos, both the knobby doodads are facing the same direction.
Yes. I figured it out afterwards and reassembled it in the correct order.
