Looking forward to trying these, currently have both but haven't opened either one yet. I'm thinking maybe in the springtime it will be a good time as the winter months I like my latkia and english blends.

Thanks for the review, Kevin! Erinmore flake and mixture is widely sold here in Pakistan and I recently picked some up. At approximately $4.00/tin, you almost have to--will be looking forward to trying it and hoping I'll fall on the "love" side of this seemingly divisive tobacco.

I love Erinmore Flake, bake it for 8 to 9 hrs at 190 degrees, brings out the fruity flavor , you almost want to eat it when you pull it out the oven.

Baking it is an interesting concept. I have 25g of the mixture open at present, it does not compare to the flake which I have 5 tins cellared for a rainy day.

Crap, I completely forgot to report on the Erinmore Flake Bake experiment from months and months ago! You know I did try it, Bradley, and it was every bit as good as you say. I don't think that tin lasted more than a weekend, actually--it was only a few lines' entry in my tobacco journal: "Cooked some for 2: @ 220`, holy pineapple cake batman!"

Did you bake the whole tin at once or just a few flakes at a time?

Explain the baking technique please, do you simply bake it until it's crisp and then re moisturize or do you seal it in a ball top jar and then bake it? From the results you guys speak of I'd like to give this a try.

You put an unopened tin in oven at 190 or 195 for 6 hrs, if you have opened the tin put a small sheet of foil to reseal it. I promise you if you do this that is the only way you will smoke this flake.

Thanks Rothnh and the old cajun (happy V day) , I was wondering if you could just leave it in the in sealed, and if it was farenheit or celcius. It sounds like worth giving a tin a try. Does it tame it or completely transform it into something else? I'm curious to try it regularly, I have 2 50gm tins of it, I may love it as it is.

Andrew it makes it more robust, the flavors are more pronunced, everyone who has tried this raves about it. Try one with and one without I have no doubt which one you will like, I bake mine unsealed just like I got it .

Gosh, just reading this thread and the baking idea fascinates me. I've never heard of it before. Does it work just for Erinmore Flake or for anything at all?

Some great info here. I have 5 tins of Erinmore Flake in my cellar. One of them is for the oven at the weekend.

Just curious on the turnouts of some of you other guys who baked your Erinmore Flake tins. How'd they turn out? Also, has anybody tried this with other flakes? Or is the "seasoning" just right in this flake to make it unique?
