A Birth Year Dunhill for Number Six

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Hoping it's everything it seems to be.

I'd say its worth a professional restoration.

It does appear to look like an easy clean up, but if it does need some restoration work, it's a Dunhill -- I'd send it out to a pro.

Yeah I agree - it's definitely worth a professional restoration. Still, I am not 100% sure I will send it out. I know Norwoods or Walkers will do better than I can, but I enjoy the process—I will have to see when it arrives.

Brian, thanks for that breakdown - I hadn't realized it! (666, uh oh!) Funny, years ago I used to laugh at things like astrology and numerology at one time in my life, but no more.

Yep - happens all the time to me too.
I have a bunch of saved searches on ebay that I just browse when bored. For me, it's a relaxing form of window shopping, I don't really care if I find something or not; but every so often, I see a Dunhill or other solid brand that seems to be going unnoticed. I'd say that if you check often (I do this a few times a week), you might come across a great deal a few times a year.
Not a lot, but when they come up, it's great.

Thanks a lot Harris! I am still not sure I will send it - mainly because I cannot stand the thought of seeing it go back out as soon as I receive it (even if only for a week). Still, I gots to admit, it will be a better pipe if I did.
